The San Luis Brass Quintet has been spreading their joyous sounds along the Central Coast for the last decade. Its members include musicians from the SLO Symphony, Santa Maria Philharmonic, the Lompoc Pops Orchestra, and various local jazz groups and ensembles. The San Luis Brass Quintet's repertoire is a varied collage of classical music, popular tunes, sacred works, and jazz arrangements. Alin Melik-Adamyan and Tom YaronSunday, November 30, 2025 3:00pm
Pianist Alin Melik-Adamyan Allakhverdyan is a prize-winning collaborative artist, soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician. A native of Southern California, Alin began her piano studies at the age of four and has since performed throughout the United States. Praised for a "sensitivity unique in the piano world" (The Musical Gourmet), Alin was the grand prize winner of the YMF/ASCAP Leiber & Stoller Scholarship. Praised by the Santa Barbara Independent for his "sensitive" playing, violinist Tom Yaron has captivated audiences across North American, Europe, and Asia. He has held concertmaster positions with esteemed ensembles, including the Moritzburg Festival Orchestra in Germany, Pacific Music Festival Orchestra in Japan, and Sarasota Festival Orchestra. His versatility has led to collaborations with world-renowned artists such as superstar cellist Yo-Yo Ma, EDM juggernaut Illenium, and acclaimed rapper Russ. |

Maud Hixson is a devoted exponent of great songs, ranging from the classic Great American Songbook to the often unsung or forgotten compositions awaiting rediscovery. She and her husband, pianist Rick Carlson, are based in their native St. Paul, Minnesota. Their newest album, "Permanent Moonlight: Songs of Sir Richard Rodney Bennett" won a New York Bistro Award in 2o24. Michael Feinstein says of Maud: "Her vocal style is so warm, intimate, and compelling - it's clear that she cares about the words and telling the story, with clarity and without artifice - practically a lost art these days." |
